The
wedding which had taken place in Hissar, northern India, close to the
capital, New Delhi has been called off as the groom who suffered serious
injuries from the accident is expected to live.
The
reports reveal that the groom, whose identified has been withheld, had
suffered his fate due to a shotgun celebration misfiring.
Station House Officer (SHO), Mandeep Singh, speaking with Indian news website, ANI, said:
"We have registered a case on the basis of the statement of the injured person’s father."
The
police are now reported to have opened an investigation into the
unfortunate incident which is best described as a freak accident.
