Following reports of her imminent sack over her topless selfie with a gun which she had shared on Facebook, Officer Nidia Garcia has reportedly turned in her resignation.
Officer
Garcia had become an overnight online sensation after posing for a
topless selfie in her patrol car with a semi-automatic weapon.
The reports reveal
that Garcia, a married mother-of-two had reportedly quit the force in a
bid stop a probe into her personal activities.
Mexican
police in Escobedo confirm that Garcia had been suspended pending an
investigation into the pictures showing her in uniform, flashing her
breasts as she cuddles up to her rifle.
Garcia had
been identified by her superiors who spotted her badge on the right
sleeve of her uniform after they had been alerted of the raunchy photo
on Facebook.
Daily Mirror reports that
prior to the completion of the investigation, Garcia had handed in her
resignation, with the Local council revealing that it had been handed in
on a voluntary basis.
The Police also reveal that as soon as she resigned, the administrative process against her had been halted.
After
Garcia's topless selfie had gone viral, she had posted a confession on
Facebook, admitting to posing for the snap - but denying that she was
responsible for uploading it to social media.
